Today's bump!

It could be the huge burrito I had for lunch but my belly sure is looking big today.
Sorry it's bad quality but it was taken with my camera phone.

I can't believe it. I'm almost 17 weeks. Only 12 days until the next ultrasound. And I *think* I've been feeling movement but I still can't be sure.

16 weeks down, 24 weeks to go

2 weeks to go! Just 14 days! I can't wait to see Poppy again. I really hope that we can find out the sex. I think I need to have a little talk with Poppy about showing the goods. I might have to promise something really nice in order to get it done but I'm willing to do that.

I have my 16 weeks belly pic. I swear my belly grows everyday.

And according to my scale at home I still haven't gained any weight. I'm still down the 7 pounds that I lost in the 1st trimester. I've been walking as much as I can and I've been eating really healthy so hopefully I won't gain too much overall.

That's about it for now. I still feel great, and still to this day I have not felt sick at all. I'm okay with that. Hopefully I'll start feeling movement soon. It could be anytime now (although it's still a little on the early side).

This week

Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now out measure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements yet.

I can't believe how fast everything is going. I remember when the baby was just a little poppy seed and this week it's already an orange?!?! I still feel great. My belly is getting bigger too. Everything is going great!

Me and Poppy are doing great!

I didn't get an ultrasound, Boo! But I did get to hear the heartbeat on the doppler, Yay!. It was a quick appointment. They weighed me, I lost seven pounds so the doctor asked if I've been eating (obviously he doesn't know me too well) and I told him I eat the same if not a little more then I used to. He wasn't concerned about it and I'm sure as hell not. My belly is getting bigger and my uterus is where it's supposed to be so baby is healthy. We got to hear the beartbeat. Then they did the blood work. That was it. I did get to make my next appointment for February second, at which time we'll be able to find out the sex if the baby cooperates. Yay!

So overall the doctor said that I was doing good and Poppy sounds like (s)he's doing good too.

7 hours and 37 minutes

Until I get to see Poppy! YAY!

And per the many requests (or one, whatever) here is my 14 week belly picture.

I can't believe how big my belly is. I think that it's bigger than normal because I'm so short. Not only am I just a wee 5'1" but I also have an extremely short torso, with the curved spine and all. So that's my theory. Well that and I had a little extra fluff to begin with. And keep in mind that this picture is just after I ate a huge meal at my parents. My stomach starts out smaller in the morning and progressively gets bigger throughout the day.

So there it is. I will try and update tonight and let you know how my doctor appointment goes. I can't wait to schedule my next appointment because that should be when we find out the sex.

Oh and my friends dropped off a whole bunch of baby clothes, diapers, formula and a breast pump for us. Most of the clothes are boys but they said that I can take them into 2 Peas in a Pod and get credit if we end up having a girl. That was so nice of them. The clothes were so cute too. I want to buy hangers then hand them all up.

Okay, well wish me luck for today's appointment!

Isn't a peach bigger than a lemon?

So not much is going on. I had Grant take another belly picture but my transfer cable is at work so I'll have to post that tomorrow. Here's what's going on with Poppy this week.
Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.

The year of Poppy

Happy New Year!

Tomorrow I'm in month 4 of my pregnancy. Holly cow! And in just three short days I get to see my little Poppy again. I can't wait! This time Poppy is actually going to look like a baby and not a blob.

I'm still feeling great. I notice that brushing my teeth makes me gag though. I'm going to have to try getting a different kind of toothpaste because the one I'm using is really minty so that may be it. I'll try getting a different flavor or something. Other than that though I feel fine. I've noticed that I've started getting some energy back. I guess what they say about the second trimester energy is true!

I got some more toys from Tonya on Wednesday. She cleaned out the kid's playroom and had two boxes of toys that she let me look through. I picked out about 5-6 because I know that there are still many more to come. I hope I have room for all of this.

So after my appointment on Monday my next one will be about 4 weeks after that, at which time I should be able to find out the sex. I can't wait! So the first part of February is what I'm really looking forward to right now. Then I get to set up a registry and go shopping! Oh my gosh time is flying.
